Senior Employment Law, Class Action & Wage and Hour Attorney
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Senior Employment Law Attorney to join our growing Plaintiff Employment Litigation team. This attorney will lead complex employment litigation matters involving individual, class action, and representative claims under California and federal employment laws, including the California Labor Code, FEHA, FLSA, and the Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). The ideal candidate is a strategic litigator with extensive experience handling wage and hour class actions, PAGA representative actions, and high-value employment disputes from inception through trial or resolution.
Responsibilities
Manage a full caseload of complex employment litigation matters.
Lead wage and hour class actions and PAGA representative actions.
Develop litigation strategy from case intake through trial or settlement.
Draft and argue pleadings, demurrers, motions, class certification briefs, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.
Conduct all phases of discovery, including written discovery, depositions, expert discovery, and ESI management.
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, PMKs, and experts.
Conduct mediations and negotiate favorable settlements.
Prepare cases for arbitration, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
Mentor and supervise associate attorneys, law clerks, and legal support staff.
Collaborate with firm leadership on litigation strategy and case evaluation.
Ensure compliance with all court rules, deadlines, and litigation procedures.
Contribute to firm growth through thought leadership, client development, and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
Minimum 7+ years of California employment litigation experience.
Significant experience litigating:
Wage and Hour Class Actions
PAGA Representative Actions
FEHA discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims
FLSA and California Labor Code violations
Demonstrated success handling cases from inception through trial or settlement.
Strong motion practice and oral advocacy skills.
Extensive deposition experience.
Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
Proven leadership and mentoring experience.
Ability to manage multiple high-value litigation matters simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
First-chair trial experience.
Class certification briefing and hearings.
Appellate experience.
Experience supervising litigation teams.
Experience with complex ESI discovery.
Mediation and settlement negotiation expertise.
