We are currently seeking a seasoned Consulting Accountant with a strong background in the non-profit sector. This role is an incredible opportunity for someone who has a passion for accounting and finance, and desires to use their skills to make a significant impact. The candidate will be responsible for providing financial advice and support to help our non-profit clients make sound business decisions. The successful candidate will be a part of a dynamic team that is focused on providing top-notch accounting services and financial guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action.
- Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development.
- Help determine financial strategy and policy, arranging the appropriate funding and managing financial risks in the organization.
- Advise managers on financial policy and control, such as the cost of carrying out a particular type of work or investment.
- Liaise with managerial staff and other colleagues, oversee the company's financial risk.
- Manage financial systems and budgets, advise on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions.
- Analyze financial performance and so contribute to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts.
- Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers.
- Implement corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or a related field, with a specific focus on the non-profit sector.
- Strong understanding of federal and state fiscal regulations.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
- Professional judgement and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field.
- Analytical skills with a thorough attention to detail.
- Ability to strategize and solve problems.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
